Name: Brahin
Location: Minsk, Belorussiya
U.S.S.R.
Type: Pallasite This meteorite was first discovered in 1810. Two masses of about 80 kilograms
and 20 kilograms respectively were recovered that year. A third mass of 183
kilograms was later recovered. There has been considerable confusion over the
number and weights of the known masses of this fall. Eight masses were reported,
totaling 633 kilograms. Eleven masses are listed with the total weight of 823 kilograms,
including masses of 73 kilograms found in 1952, 12.7 kilograms found in 1968 and 21.8 kilograms
found in 1979.
