A rare white stone meteorite fell on August 2, 1946, landing in a spring.
It struck the pond's bottom and broke into two pieces; the fall witnessed by
more than twenty people. Aubrites are one of the rarest achondrites. This sample
appears almost white, very little metal is visible. About 70 kilograms was recovered.
Never published in the Meteoritical Society Bulletins but some information is available.
