Potter
History
Name: Potter
Location: Cheyenne County
Nebraska
Type: Olivine-Hypersthene Chondrite L6, Brecciated
The Potter, Nebraska stone meteorite had either broken on impact with the soil or had
fragmented during weathering. This stone meteorite was found in 1941 by H.H. Nininger.
A total of 600lbs of fragments were recovered. Although this chondrite exhibits a very
nice breccia, it unfortunately is somewhat weathered and, as a result, does not clearly
show the usual large quantity of metallic flakes of nickel-iron found in L6 meteorites.
